The Mountaineering Club is one of the most active clubs in the University, planning trips for weekends during term time. These can be just for a day to nearby places such as Dartmoor, Swanage, Portland and The Brecon Beacons or for whole weekends to places further afield like The Lake District, North Wales or The Peak District. During the Easter and Summer vacations we organise trips to Scotland and Europe.

The club aims to run trips as often as possible, weekend trips are normally every two weeks and we try and fill the free weekends with day trips whenever possible. On weekend trips we try and do as many activities as possible, depending on whats available in the area we're going and also the weather! For more information on weekend trips have a look in the trips section of the site where you'll find logs from past trips and information on the areas we go to and the different activities we get involved in.

During the week we'll run trips to Redpoint Bristol and The Climbing Academy in Bristol for indoor bouldering and climbing, and during the summer months when there's more light we run evening trips to some of the local crags.

So whether your interest is hill-walking, rock climbing, scrambling or bouldering and to whatever degree you pursue these we will do something to suit you!

Here is a video to give you a taster of what the club gets up to on its trips, all of the photos and videos included were taken by members of the club on past trips, enjoy!
