Fun times at the Lakes!

October 25th, 2010

Thank you to all of those who came to the Freshers trip, we all (at least I did and hope you did too) had a great time up in the Lake District over the weekend!
On Saturday the weather wasn’t amazing, so we had two groups going scrambling and two other groups walking.
The group I went with started at the Dungeon Ghyll carpark, then walked up to the bottom of Pavey Ark by Stickle Tarn, and took the scrambling route named Jack’s Rake, a line which goes across the main face of Pavey Ark. We reached the cloud and mist covered summit around midday then continued towards High Raise, then down the Cumbrian Way back to the carpark at Dungeon Ghyll.

At night there was a lot of fun games going on like the Pan Game, Twister and also some beer pong!

On Sunday the weather was a lot better so the climbers got some climbing done! The main group went to Shepherds Crag and with two groups going to Great Gable for a long day! (indeed!!) The walking group also had some fun going up Helvellyn enjoying the sunshine!

Again, big thank you to those who came along, especially to Alistair organising it and our drivers who did the long drive. For those who’re drooling over the fun, look out for our next trip to the Peaks and also future club trips!

Oh! Also thumbs up to Darrell on coming to his 7th (Yes, 7th) Freshers trip with the club!

Feel free to find your memories here!

Adrian
